More mail!

Ambika in New Jersey writes, "I have a question. What would humans have to do if the planet DID get flooded? Would we have to move to a new planet? AAAAAAAAH!!!!!"

Well, clearly we'd use blow-up rafts until interstellar hovercrafts came around to teleport us to drier lands. Clearly.

Don't listen to him and his space-flying fantasies. He gets too much sleep. A lot of people believe that a warmer earth will put areas near the coast at a greater risk for flooding. As I write, the world's governments are meeting to talk about this exact thing. For right now, we are trying to do our part and get everyone to help leave fewer problems for the future.

Wait, there's more:

Ambika also tells us, "I was told by my parents that after the effects of global warming, there would be an ice age. Is that true? (Gasp!) Will I have to become a caveman?! Oh yeah, um, another thing. The climate where I live usually has snow Dec. through Mar. Last winter, it only started to snow in Feb.! That's crazy, isn't it?"

There are lots of different ideas out there about what global warming might do to our spiffy little planet. The only sure thing is that no one knows for sure what will happen, but really smart people all over the world are working on figuring it out. In the meantime, we can switch off lights we're not using, bring our own bags to the supermarket, ride bikes instead of taking the car - all little things that add up to a more sustainable future!
