Ever wondered what happens to plastic that doesn't get recycled? Tons of it ends up in landfills. That's not good. But a whole bunch more ends up in canals, and rivers and oceans.

Animals get caught up in it. The BBC recently reported an island in the middle of the ocean where every single albatross that lives there has plastic inside them. That's just wrong. We'd add a link to it but it's too depressing.

Do what you can to make sure plastic you see ends up where it should: in the nearest recycle bin. And if you want some more facts about plastic, check out this list at Green Feet.
