In San Francisco there's this cool organization called Food Runners that helps get that food to people that need it! See, every day there are people that go hungry, and every day there are restaurants and hotels that throw out so much extra food. The problem is how to get the food from here to there.

But people are driving around in their cars all day — why can't they just bring it over?

That's exacty what the Food Runners do! They get volunteers to pick up food and bring it to agencies that give it out to people in need. Each person makes a few trips and altogether the food runners deliver 10 tons of food a week! Now that's teamwork.
